From High Holy Days in the fall to every Jewish holiday throughout the year, Temple Beth Am is your home to observe and celebrate.

High Holy Days 2025

Our High Holy Days page will be updated for the 2025 holidays soon, but, in the meantime, you can explore the variety of offerings you can expect from TBA on our 2024 High Holy Days page.

Year-Round Holidays

From Purim to Passover, TBA is your perfect hub for all things Jewish Holidays. See our upcoming Holiday celebrations here.

Find Your Community

Temple Beth Am is home to several community connection groups which hold events and enrich the membership of their attendees! These groups include:

Havurot bring a richness of Jewish experience, personal meaning and interpersonal connection to their members. A havurah is a self-run group of 5-6 families or 10 – 12  synagogue members who gather regularly to celebrate Jewish Shabbat/holidays, lifecycle events; to learn and grow; and to have fun. Typically, a havurah will meet once every 6-8 weeks.

We have TBA members who have been part of a havurah for over 25 years!

Please submit this form if you are interested in being part of a new havurah at Temple Beth Am. Your responses will help us to set expectations and facilitate accommodations among group members. New havurot will meet after the Jewish new year.

Youth Learning and Engagement

YLE stands for Youth Learning and Engagement, the department for all of our synagogue’s programs and opportunities for families with kids. We build community by connecting you with friends, creating space for fun and learning, and embracing you as a whole family.

Our YLE offerings include Family ProgrammingJLC (our religious school), Youth and Teen GroupsCamp Keshet during the summer, and more!

Jewish Learning Community

Temple Beth Am’s Jewish Learning Community (JLC) fosters enriching learning journeys through Judaism’s ideas, rituals, texts, and practices. Our experiential approach encourages real-world application of knowledge and students learn small-group Hebrew instruction and family-oriented experiences.

Temple Beth Am’s Jewish Learning Community offers sessions for students from kindergarten through 8th grade! Learn more about our sessions and getting your child started with JLC on our dedicated webpage.

Pressman Academy

Pressman Academy is a Jewish Day School located which shares a campus with Temple Beth Am. Pressman offers programming for children starting as young as 2 years-old all the way through 8th grade.

Developing minds.

Pressman Academy produces scholars, innovators, tinkerers, critical thinkers and moral decision makers. Each year, nearly 100% of our 8th graders are accepted to their first-choice high school. Our students consistently compete at the highest level in the L.A. County Science Fair, rank amongst the top 30 schools in the state in the California Math League, place in the Middle School Moot Beit Din competition, and demonstrate Hebrew proficiency on Avant testing. But the General and Judaic Studies program at Pressman is about so much more than achievements. We believe that every great teacher changes the world. We believe that learning is fun when it is meaningful and connected to the real world. We believe that a differentiated classroom – where every single child is seen and supported – is a successful classroom. And we believe that joy is essential, because happy, engaged children are learning children. Pressman students excel precisely because of how we approach the work of developing minds.

Nurturing hearts.

There is a reason that Pressman Academy is known as the school that develops the hearts and souls of children. Social-Emotional learning isn’t an afterthought here; on the contrary, it’s foundational to the Pressman educational experience. We are proud to have a Wellness Department, staffed by three full time educators and therapists, focused entirely on the wellbeing of our students. From two-year-olds practicing yoga and meditation to our Day School Council program, Pressman students learn how to communicate deeply, understand themselves and their peers, and resolve conflict.

Instilling Jewish values.

At Pressman, Jewish inquiry and practice is joyful and serious, rooted and innovative, rigorous and welcoming. Stroll down our hallways any time of day, any day of the week and you will hear small voices singing shabbat songs, medium voices belting out birkat hamazon, bigger voices reading Torah. We foster our students’ commitment and connection to Judaism through Hebrew, t’fillahTorah, Rabbinics, and a love of Israel. We live our values through community partnerships and tikkun olam opportunities. Our students graduate prepared for Jewish Studies classes at the high school level, and they bring with them an immersive Jewish experience that is grounded in the history, traditions, rituals, and rhythms of Jewish life.
