Gal Raviv Galea is a Senior Product Manager at Taboola, where she has worked for more than a decade. She leads product strategy and the development of new solutions, working closely with teams across research and development, analytics and business.
Her husband, Major Itay Galea, Deputy Company Commander in the Armored Corps,
was killed on July 4, 2024, in a Hezbollah rocket attack while serving in reserve duty
in northern Israel. At the time, Gal was 32 weeks pregnant with their third child.
Since Itay’s death, Gal and her children have been supported by the IDF Widows & Orphans Organization through programs such as Letzidech for pregnant widows, Night Nurses, Bonim Atid and Otzma camps. As she rebuilds her life, Gal continues to raise their children while honoring Itay’s legacy of service, integrity and quiet courage.
David Metzler serves as Director of International Relations at the IDF Widows & Orphans Organization, where he leads global fundraising and partnership development in support of the families of Israel’s fallen heroes. David has devoted his career to the nonprofit sector, working with philanthropic partners, community leaders and institutions around the world. Before joining IDFWO, David held leadership positions at Yad Vashem, Keren Hayesod in Melbourne, Australia, and the Jewish Community Center of Stockholm, Sweden. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Sweden, he made Aliyah in 2001 and lives in Jerusalem. He is the proud father of four children, two of whom have served in IDF combat units over the past three years.
