Youth Groups

Youth Groups offer informal programming by fostering connections and cultivating a sense of community within each age group. Mahar (2nd-3rd); Kadima (4th-6th); USY (7th-12th)

TBA Teens

Temple Beth Am’s Teen Program offers after school, weekend and special interest programs for teens in our community. TBA Teens are empowered to grow intellectually, socially, creatively and emotionally.

Teens in grades 7th-12th develop leadership skills and build healthy, social bonds through cohort-based learning, Israel & Jewish ritual, and community social events such as:

  • Weekly Teen lounges
  • Social programming
  • Shabbat opportunities
  • High Holiday programs
  • Partner programs with other synagogues and organizations

Teen Lounge

Tuesdays at 7:00 PM in the Teen Lounge
March 26, April 2 & 9, May 7, 14, 28, June 4

Pizza and snacks, conversations and games, just for teens 7th-12th grade.

Teen Shabbat

Saturdays at 11:00 AM in Hersch Hall – March 30

Are you a teen who likes hanging out with friends, davening with spirit, playing games and eating delicious food?! If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should come to Beth Am’s Teen Shabbat! Teen Shabbat is open to any teen in 6th-12th grade. So bring a friend!

Moving Traditions

Moving Traditions groups promote self-discovery, challenge traditional gender roles, and celebrate a diversity of voices, it has the power to move our teens, our communities, and Judaism forward. Through the field-tested programs, Rosh Hodesh and Shevet Achim, offer groups for boys and girls in 8th-12th grade a unique cohort experience that inspire Jewish teens to openly explore fundamental questions of identity and society throughout their teen years.

Torah Club

March 30, April 20, May 18

For over 10 years, Torah Club provides 6th – 12th graders with the opportunity to build on their trope and davening skills.  With designated Torah Club Shabbatot throughout the year, Torah Club members serve the community by reading Torah (and frequently haftarah) and leading services.  Aliyot are assigned in advance of a Torah Club Shabbat, and members receive 1-on-1 support to help them prepare.
