Join Temple Beth Am – in partnership with IKAR, Temple Mishkon Tephilo, Kehillat Israel, Camp Gilboa, B'nai David Judea, and Jewish Family Services – in supporting refugees currently being resettled in San Diego. These asylum seekers include genocide survivors from Somalia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Syria and Iraq. San Diego is the nearest Jewish Family Services venue for absorbing refugees.
At this time, only the following donations are needed by March 16:
Furniture (tables, chairs, or couches only)
Small appliances (microwaves, toasters, toaster-ovens)
Cleaning supplies (dish soap, sponges, laundry detergent, waste baskets, brooms)
Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, hygiene products, toothpaste, toothbrushes)
Baby items (car seats, strollers, bottles, diapers, baby clothes)
School supplies (backpacks, paper, pens, pencils, notebooks, children’s books)
If you have large items (e.g., furniture) or would like to volunteer to help box, store, load, or drive donations, or need information about tax receipts, contact Tyson Roberts: Tyson@CohenRoberts.com.
Donations can also be designated for refugee programming through Rabbi Kligfeld’s Discretionary Fund: www.tbala.org/donate
