Pre-Pesah Community Shabbat Dinner
7:30 PM Join your TBA community for one last hametz-fest and learning with scholar-in-residence Rav Shoshana Cohen.

The topic will be “
Humility and Strength in the Face of Danger – Navigating the Dynamics of Power and Vulnerability in Uncertain Times

Please bring  kosher wine, beer or liquor that you want to finish before Passover arrives (TBA will not provide wine at the meal). There will be kid-friendly food available!

Beiteinu Shabbat Service
Learning continues with Rav Shoshana Cohen in Beiteinu service beginning at 9:45 AM in Pilch Hall.

Topic will be:
“When Sin Sticks –  What Priestly Laws on Purity and Sacrifice Can Teach Us About Collective Responsibility “

Rabbi Shoshana Cohen is a senior faculty member and research fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem, where she serves as program rabbi and mentor for Israeli and American gap year/mechina students. She also serves as scholar in residence in communities around the US as part of Hartman’s Courageous Communities project. She is educational advisor to a several programs at the Institute and leads a year-long learning seminar for Rabbinical students spending the year in Israel. Shoshana is a scholar of rabbinic literature with a focus on midrash and gender studies and an eye towards social justice. Before coming to Hartman Shoshana taught Talmud, midrash and feminism at the Conservative Yeshiva  over a decade. Shoshana grew up in LA and has fond childhood memories of Beth Am’s iconic kiddush lemonade fountain. She has lived in Jerusalem with her family for the past twenty years.
