Camp Keshet counselors are responsible, dynamic, energetic and patient people who thrive on being active and having fun. A job as a Camp Keshet counselor is demanding and all who are interested in creating meaningful and engaging experiences for campers of all ages should consider applying for a position. If you love working with children, are a creative and a self-motivated hard working leader you are on the right path towards becoming a Camp Keshet counselor. Job Descriptions

ROSH (HEAD COUNSELOR)

Must have completed at least One Year of College
Roshim are responsible for leading a group of campers. Groups are divided by grade and age (Toddlers, ECC, Gesher/Kindergarten – 6th Grade). Responsibilities include creating a positive and safe atmosphere for all campers. Roshim will lead the group throughout the daily schedule. Roshim are responsible for daily and weekly group planning, ensuring camper safety and engagement, implementation of all camp programming and additional assignments provided by camp directors in regards to specialist, pool time, or field trip activities. Roshim are responsible for supervising senior and junior counselors and creating a dynamic team to support and engage the group. Roshim must be alert and attentive to the needs of all campers and be a positive role model. Roshim are responsible for making sure that campers are being supervised at all times and engaged in camp and group time activities. Works under the direct guidance of the camp directors. Required to attend all orientations, staff and planning meetings.

SENIOR COUNSELOR

Entering 11th/12th Grade and Above
Senior Counselors are responsible for supporting the Rosh (head counselor) in their assigned group of campers. Groups are divided by grade and age (Toddlers, ECC, Gesher/Kindergarten – 6th Grade). Responsibilities include creating a positive and safe atmosphere for all campers. Senior counselors will work collaboratively with the Rosh to create group programming, facilitate and instill camp spirit, prepare the group room daily and weekly for activities and Camp events. Senior counselors may be asked to lead the group and facilitate the group schedule in addition to actively supporting specialist, camp directors, or other staff. Senior counselors must be alert and attentive to the needs of all campers and be a positive role model. Senior counselors will help to ensure that campers are being supervised at all times and engaged in camp and group time activities. Works under the direct guidance of the camp directors, and Rosh (head counselor). Required to attend all orientations, staff and planning meetings.

JUNIOR COUNSELOR

Entering 9th/10th Grade and Above
Junior Counselors are responsible for supporting the Senior Counselor and the Rosh (head counselor) in their assigned group of campers. Groups are divided by grade and age (Toddlers, ECC, Gesher/Kindergarten – 6th Grade) Responsibilities include creating a positive and safe atmosphere for all campers. Junior counselors will work collaboratively with Senior Counselors and the Rosh to facilitate programming and instill camp spirit, prepare the group room daily and weekly for activities and Camp events. Junior counselors must be alert and attentive to the needs of all campers and be a positive role model. Junior counselors will help to ensure that campers are being supervised at all times and engaged in camp and group time activities. Works under the direct guidance of the camp directors, Rosh (head counselor), and Senior counselor. Required to attend all orientations, staff and planning meetings.
