What our Members Say

I'm a young professional in the financial services industry, and when I moved to Los Angeles, I didn't have a single friend here.  My very first Friday night attending the Neshama Minyan, a fellow davener invited me to join his family for Shabbat dinner.  From that moment, I knew that Beth Am was more than my synagogue -- it was my community and my family.

My husband Chuck, of blessed memory, and I have been Temple Beth Am members for over 50 years.  Now I am proud to welcome the newest fourth generation TBA member, our great-grandson Chason.

The Pilch Family

I remember sitting in the circle on the first day at Mommy and Me, when two other women walked in.  We were all there with our first children, all almost 1 year old.  6 years later, we now have 9 children between the three families. Our husbands are best friends; the children are, too.  We all are.  Thank you, Temple Beth Am, for friendships that last a lifetime.

My family and I first joined Beth Am after I graduated from High School in the 1940's when it was known as the Olympic Jewish Center. I've never left! The Daily Minyan was my home after Mom died in 1976, and it is with pleasure that I still come each morning as Gabbai, to set up and welcome daveners of all ages.

Beth Am has been our spiritual home and a springboard for so much more. The ReligiousSchool and caring teachers along with our clergy helped prepare our daughters for their Bat Mitzvahs just as they had for Stuart and his Bar Mitzvah many years ago. Those two Shabbats are unforgettable as we were surrounded by so many friends and family. We’re looking forward to future simchas to share with all.

The Weiss Family  (Marla, Stuart, Stephanie & Erica)

Temple Beth Am and Pressman Academy have given us and our children so many wonderful opportunities to discover our Judaism and our faith and love as a family. We have finally found our "second home!" The friendships we've made are lasting and the personalities and programs within the TBA community undoubtedly enrich all of our lives on a daily basis. Thank you TBA!
